Despair like fear is routed in a lie. But when your feeling it, it’s sure hard to remember this. That’s why, just like our body’s and mind, our spirit must be strengthened through practicing Gods presence and exercising our faith.

Today in the Word

The psalm then turns from despair to joy (vv. 6–9). This shift in David’s emotional journey is raw, heartfelt, anguished—and full of faith. The psalms are emotionally honest, but they never wallow in self-centeredness. Despite his feelings, David still knows God to be his strength, shield, and shepherd. Though He seems silent now, He is a God who hears, speaks, saves, and blesses, and He will be true to His character.

Dear God, Abba Father, Lord Jesus, I’ve learned through practicing Your presence. That even when I feel Your silence and think I’m all alone. You are there, You are with me. This doesn’t change my feelings of despair, but I know it will pass. And whatever I’m going through or dealing with is only temporary. For You are eternal and through Jesus I have Your promise that I cling to with each breath. This and only this, is what affects how others see me during the storms of life, and shows Your presence in me. Let me never forget. Amen

Power Walking requires proper technique and focus to obtain the benefits of improved endurance and strength. You need to keep a few facts in mind when power walking…
1. Jesus Christ die on the Cross for you and me.
2. Jesus Christ has risen and lives within us.
3. Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
4. Jesus Christ intercedes for us.
So walk with power and in the name of Jesus Christ.

The Greatest Source of Power

What is the greatest source of power in my life? Is it my work, service, and sacrifice for others, or is it my striving to work for God? It should be none of these— what ought to exert the greatest power in my life is the atonement of the Lord. It is not on what we spend the greatest amount of time that molds us the most, but whatever exerts the most power over us. We must make a determination to limit and concentrate our desires and interests on the atonement by the Cross of Christ.

Dear Lord God, Abba Father, Jesus my Savior, only one thing can show You my love, awareness and acceptance of what happened on the Cross. O that You would fill me with Your power of the Cross, surround me with constant awareness of what Christ Jesus accomplished, and see me fighting to bring acceptance into every step of my daily walk. Help me break free from the chains of disobedience and regret, and focus only on the power and joy of walking as one with You. In Jesus name I ask and pray. Amen

A thought…
When I first read about Pastor Rick Warrens Daniel Plan lifestyle it clicked. It was the logical next step in my OneWalk. To exercise my body, mind and spirit together. Walking provided the perfect pace to accomplish this for me and going on two years later, still does. Today’s devotion reminds me of so many of my walks. I start out thinking my natural way about something or someone, and finish thinking God’s will not mine. Even more, I realize just how natural to me God’s will really is once I focus on Jesus.

“Work Out” What God “Works in” You

With focused attention and great care, you have to “work out” what God “works in” you— not work to accomplish or earn “your own salvation,” but work it out so you will exhibit the evidence of a life based with determined, unshakable faith on the complete and perfect redemption of the Lord. As you do this, you do not bring an opposing will up against God’s will— God’s will is your will. Your natural choices will be in accordance with God’s will, and living this life will be as natural as breathing.

A prayer…
O God, my Abba Father, Jesus my Lord and Savior here I am again ready to ‘work out what You are working in’ me, according to Your will, not my nature. Help me, give me strength, determination and perseverance to finish each daily walk in Your will. So each night when I lay my head down on my pillow. I can tell You, today I walked well. Better than yesterday, and together tomorrow will be better than today. To accomplish this I know I must stay above the distractions. Be there without being there. This requires my fighting to focus on Jesus with each breath and not let the busyness under the sun become the focus. Amen

Walking with Trust

A thought…

You’ll regret worrying. You won’t regret putting your trust in the Lord.

The closer You get to Him, the more you will learn to trust in Jesus. But how do you get close. You must spend time with Him, get to know Him through His Words and recorded actions in the Gospels. You must seek and practice His presence. You must feel His love and understand His sacrifice on the cross for you and me. You must believe He rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven. And know that it is His Spirit within you.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

O God of Heaven and Earth, and all creation. My Abba Father in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior I come to You asking that You hear the names of all those I lift up to You in prayer. So many grieving, hurting, suffering and lost. But most of all so many walking without You in their life. Not knowing their true identity in You. Never knowing the peace that only You can give. Lord touch them, comfort them, open their hearts. Amen

A thought…
I find my hope, in my faith and my faith in my love of the Lord Jesus. I hope my walk from believer to follower will lead to disciple. But I know this above all. Jesus is my truth, my way. The only truth, the only way. And if one walks believing this, He is always with us. And we have reason to hope.

“I will never…forsake you.” Sometimes it is not the difficulty of life but the drudgery of it that makes me think God will forsake me. Walking in Submission

A thought…
Yesterday morning accelerated out of control as did the night before without my knowing why. Then on the way to pick up my crew, I noticed the truck was accelerating without my foot pressing down on the accelerator. Fortunately (thank You Jesus) I was able to calmly figure out how to stop this from happening. I still need to look into why. However, I can say I do know why Friday night and yesterday morning accelerated out of control. I disconnected from Jesus losing my balance by failing to submit. Once again thanks to Jesus, I was able to calmly figure this out and bring the day back into balance by submitting myself to Him. Now I just need to work on doing this more often.

The wonderful thing about God is that he partners with us in this life to fulfill his will. He doesn’t just give orders like a taskmaster and then leave us to our own devices to juggle it all—God remains deeply engaged in every aspect of our lives, hoping that we will learn to trust him. This means checking with God on a secondly basis for the proper response to each day’s interactions. This means allowing the Holy Spirit to schedule your day, and intentionally focusing your attention on what God deems the priority for that moment. When we align with God, and truly consider all that we have to be his, then it releases us from the burden of trying to be God through self-determination. The question is not one of balance,but rather one of submission and obedience to God’s sovereignty in every second of our lives.

A prayer…
Dear God, Abba Father, Jesus my Lord and Savior, I know You walk with me. You know me. You know my thoughts, hear my words, see my every expression and action. You know I sometimes let the busyness of life make fellowship with you seem elusive. I disconnect and struggle to balance my work, family, friendships, responsibilities, and most of all my relationship with you. Teach me how to stay connected and submit all things under your Lordship as I pursue to live balanced life on your terms. So everyone will see and know I am in You and You are in me. Amen.

Walking in Obsession

A thought…
Do you ever feel like your surrounded by inconsiderate, selfish, narcissist? It’s like when you were a kid playing in the pool, trying to see who could swim the farthest under water. Has you ran out of breath, the more you felt like you were going to explode. You knew you could quit anytime and release that feeling with a breath of air. Just come up and breathe, the only thing holding under was your will to win. So you swam a little further. At that moment, whose the narcissist?

Walking under the sun without a conscious connection to Jesus, is like swimming under water. Are you focused on yourself or Jesus. Being focused on Jesus is the only way you can always be there for others. You have to be willing to lose or die to yourself if you are to be used by Him for others.
