Abba, Father, Lord God, grant me favor in all I do, let my actions, words and thoughts serve You first. Give me a discerning mind and liken my heart to that of my Lord Jesus, so that I may walk in love, quick to forgive, never remembering or seeing but the good of all Your creations. For knowing what I know about myself; who I am to think that I could seek or hold back that very thing that I myself ask and pray for in all I do. From this perspective it is so easy to see the needs of others, what is difficult is to walk in the moment with the awareness to put aside my needs and serve the needs of those before me. So I call upon my Lord Jesus to strengthen my faith, renew my hope and fill me with love so that I will not find myself unable to respond in that moment to one who needs that which I also need. For I know that in that moment when I serve the need of another, I meet my need. For this is the secret to my being Your child, and as Your child I must liken my heart to that of Jesus so I will see through His eyes, speak in His image and feel one with Him, as I know He is one with You. Abba, Father, Lord God, I feel and realize the value and need for the tradition Church, the sacraments, the teachings and catechism, the organization that serves so many; but I also feel and see the place for the evangelical and inspirational churches with Pastors that spread Your word with emotion, joy and affection. Like Solomon wrote 'for everything there is a season' and I feel the need to focus more on prayer. I ask that You would help me develop my power of prayer; prayer that is confident in faith, full of hope and focused on love. Let my thoughts during the day float up to You as words of the same prayer. Let each day be driven by my faith in Your promise, my hope in Jesus and my love for His passion. Liken my heart to His heart; give me favor to do what You ask and the resources to do it well. Letting all the glory be Yours in Christ Jesus through the Holy Spirit that lives and walks within me. Abba, Father, Lord God, I feel the time is coming that I need to let the past be just that, the past. I feel You have a plan and purpose for me and that I need to focus finding, knowing and doing that which You will call me to do. So I ask You now Lord; tell me, show me, and convict me to do Your will. Abba, Father, Lord God, today's Lenten pray ask You to watch over Your Church, and guide it with Your unfailing love. Protecting us from what could harm us and leading us to what will save us. Help us always, for without You we are bound to fail. Yet what harms us most is 'us'; through our weakness of heart and failure to be obedient we fail You. Help me to understand and to find the way to walk in and with Jesus each moment. Meditating of the words of St. Louis de Montfort show me how to Deny myself while carrying my cross, how to follow Jesus Christ in every thought, word and act; for If I am ashamed of the Cross of Jesus Christ and fail His passion, how will He not be ashamed of me before You my Lord God, His Father. How does one learn to Love the Cross and Desire: crosses, contempt, pain, abuse, insults, disgrace, persecution, humiliations, calumnies, illness, injuries, unless Jesus prevails in their hearts and His Passion on the Cross prevails and is present in my mind and on my heart every moment. It is His Divine love Humility, Submission, Patience, Obedience that is my example: complete in me what we have begun in Jesus, help me be prompt in forgiving, joyful in all things, blind to the ways under the sun, persevering in likening my heart to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Thank you for awakening my spirit and for touching me this day, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
