My Daily Prayers and Readings for 04/21/2013

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.

Jesus, I want to be like You. I want to be freed from lingering traces of pride or fear, to be transformed by You and Your unconditional love. I want to grow up to be like You, and to humbly, confidently, love others. Make me like You, so that I reveal You to others, especially as I meet challenging people and situations I encounter each day. I pray in Your name, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 03/13/2013

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father I pray to You, thanking You for Your faithfulness to me throughout my life. I look to You to carry me through today to Your glory. I place my trust in You through Your Son Jesus Christ.1 In whose name I come to You so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within us. For our one walk in and with You today, as channels of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power, by putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around our waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Taking up the shield of faith, with which we can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one who lurks in each moment waiting to separate us from You. Wearing the helmet of salvation and carrying the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. Praying in through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert and always praying for those You place in our path. Asking that whenever we speak, words may be given to us, so that we will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.(r or l) Remembering that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 03/12/2013

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

Abba Father You are the Creator of the seasons of life, the rhythms of days, weeks, and years. Your love surrounds me and Your Spirit is ever-present to guide me as I move through each one. Today, assure me of Your presence and align me with Your purpose.1 Through the Holy Spirit within me and in the name of Jesus Christ, I come to You so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within us. And forgive us our debts,  as we also have forgiven our debtors.

Jesus, thank You for forgiving me! Help me to pass on this gift of grace to others, freely giving them the forgiveness You have poured out on me. You stressed forgiveness time and again, living a life of ongoing forgiveness of others. I am a recipient and beneficiary of Your choice to forgive. May I forgive others as freely as You have forgiven me.
