My Daily Prayers and Readings for 11/05/2013

Praise be to the LORD, the God of our ancestors, who has put it into the king’s heart to bring honor to the house of the LORD in Jerusalem in this way.

Lord God, thank You for placing a desire to honor You within my heart. Remind me to test my desires to make sure that fulfilling them will make You smile. I want to pursue God-honoring desires with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength.1 I come to You so that You will create a pure heart likened to Yours, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk in and with You today. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) A channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus for me and mine to fulfill Your will. Staying alert to always pray for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 10/23/2013

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.

Lord Jesus, when I am tempted to make followers for myself, remind me that You are the only one with the power to transform lives. Show me those whom You are calling to follow You, and help me keep pace with them so that they can find their way to You.1 Create in me a pure heart likened to Yours, and renew my steadfast spirit. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. For one walk in and with You today, As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in and remove from my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

… Ezra came up from Babylon. He was a teacher well versed in the Law of Moses, which the LORD, the God of Israel, had given. The king had granted him everything he asked, for the hand of the LORD his God was on him.

Lord God, I exalt You as my source of source, the influence that I possess. Make me a humble steward of Your gifts. May I be quick to point to You as the reason for my success.1 Through the Holy Spirit create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. For my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. Then the peoples around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building. They bribed officials to work against them and frustrate their plans during the entire reign of Cyrus king of Persia and down to the reign of Darius king of Persia.

Lord God You know the opposition and discouragement that I face. You are my hope and strength. Re-energize me as I turn to You. Accomplish Your purpose,1 in and through me. Create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk in and with You today. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying in the now of each moment for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Staying alert to always pray for those You place in my path. When [the disabled beggar] saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

Abba Father show me how to meet the needs of those around me in ways that will point them to You.1 Filled with gratitude for all of Your blessings. And with a pure heart, and a steadfast spirit. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Praying for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in my path. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

Abba Father, I trust the goodness of Your heart and Your willingness to give me what I need to live today.
