My Daily Prayers and Readings for 09/30/2012

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

Abba Father ‘this is my prayer that my love for You may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight into Your truths, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless my one walk in and with Christ Jesus. That You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. That in You each day I may in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit come to You so You can create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. So I can stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 09/29/2012

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

Abba Father as believer I often felt that because I could see the light that was enough, but I realized I was still hiding from it; and I could have the relationship with you I sought, I needed to be in the light to become a follower.  And as a follower I have grown  in love, appreciation and awareness of what a relationship with You really means and I want to become more. So in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I come to so that You would create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. That You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. That You will help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

Abba Father searching for the right words to express what I am thinking, You once again provide them, opening the way for me to explore new insights from within and not getting distracted with what is outside. Now in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I come to You so that You would create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. So that You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. So that You will help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Abba Father far too often I feel to many of us put You second or last, thinking let me first do this or get here and then… I know I did! The truth as all truth lies in Your Word, just as reflected in today’s verse ‘but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.’ For me the seeking starts each day when in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I come to so that You would create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. So that You will show me and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. So that You will help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. So that I can ask that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; and so that You will remind me that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 09/26/2012

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Abba Father, I often feel Paul speaking to me from a human perspective, one soul to another. One who after Jesus, tries to relate the human experience of walking as a fallen soul, in a fallen world under the sun, to show and teach us we are never alone; and despite all that is different, the human experience and the internal battles and external pressures never change. Nor does the solution, the answer is in Jesus, the unseen, the eternal, that which without faith is dead and can not be felt into belief, believed into following, and followed into discipleship. We cannot think our way into acceptance, we must feel our way into salvation. We must overcome by dying to ourselves and the things under the sun. To get there we must start by praying as often as we must, in the now of the moment and in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within and teaches us through the Holy Spirit, that You create in us a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within us, for our one walk in and with the Son. We must open ourselves to change, to feel what cannot be seen, rather than react to what is seen if we are to become channels of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. We must stand having girded our waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always praying for others and that You continue to bless us and ours in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done each day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.

Abba Father today and tomorrow’s verses are ‘beautiful and almost poetic’, but ‘it is one thing to read it as black print on a white page, and it’s another thing entirely to embrace that mind-set when all hell breaks loose against us.’ For me I must start and come back each day to this point in time, the now of the moment with You. Where in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I ask that You would create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. A walk where His reflection can be seen in me. In my eyes, my thoughts, my words and my actions as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. Always standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always ready to die to myself; over and over to keep You first and the other second, with me third. Overcoming doubt, selfishness, self pity, fear, anger and sin. Asking that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Abba Father ‘thank You for letting me know and then helping me to slow down and reflect on the condition of my heart. In the midst all my thoughts which can get the best of me with all pressures under the sun, it can be easy to start to think that it all depends on me, to forget that You are the One at work in and through me. May You receive the glory today as I refocus on You. In the name of Jesus, who reflected You in all He said and did, I pray’ in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit that You would create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. That You show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people.
