My Daily Prayers and Readings for 08/06/2012

All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.

Abba Father I keep my thoughts on You and my mind on what I know are Your truths. Always asking in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. Remind me to keep my thoughts on the needs of others and not mine. Make me a channel of Your peace and love. Help me to stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 08/05/2012

The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

Abba Father Your words are truth, but a state of grace is needed and one must maintain a confident  humble and merciful heart and spirit. It sounds like a contradiction and just maybe one under the sun. How can one be confident and humble; and how does merciful fit in. Well under the sun it is because we tend to rely on what we see and feel. But in and with the Son all things are possible. If we rely  on Him, see through eyes of faith, and feel by likening our hearts to His; everything is different. We must start each day asking in His name, the name of Christ Jesus who lives within each of us, through the Holy Spirit that You create in us a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within us, for our one walk in and with Him. Be a channel of Your peace and love, always standing having girded our waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Asking that You bless us in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

“This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it—the LORD is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Abba Father I call out to You, not for me, but for mine. Asking for Your continued blessings of love, healing and wisdom. Wisdom to accept and carry out You will. Wisdom to find contentment in those things we do not know or understand. Wisdom to weigh and measure ourselves by Your standards not those under the sun. Wisdom to persevere by rising and asking each day, that in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within us through the Holy Spirit that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Wisdom to stand having girded our waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one, who will stop for nothing and use anything, even each other against us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 08/02/2012

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Abba Father, Your word speaks to each of us differently, but it speaks one truth. For me that truth is buried in and risen with Jesus. So in His name, the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. Use me as You see fit and make me a channel of Your peace and love. Help me to stand having girded my waist with truth, and to put on the breastplate of righteousness, and to shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 08/01/2012

You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.

Abba Father You are my refuge, my shield and I have put my hope in You. Your words are truth to me and I listen attentively for Your voice throughout the day. Knowing that if I ask in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit, and maintain both throughout the day, I will hear You through Your works within me and Your miracles and blessings with mine. For my one walk in and with Jesus is all about You and making Your presence within me visible, as a channel of Your peace and love. Far from perfect and knowing that under the sun I will never be what I hope to be, but always running the race as You will, on the course You layout for me. By standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You continue bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, despite our shortcomings and keep us from evil and the pain it brings. I ask that You remind us throughout the day, that if we get nothing else done, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 07/31/2012

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

Abba Father to understand what it means to be born of You, to accept You as our source or source; to be able to know you have been called. Called to be more than we would be if there was no, or worse we didn’t hear the call. More through death, death to ourselves for You and for each person You put in our path. We can ignore, but cannot deny the call for You planted the seed to know and love You in our hearts from our creation. And we each will have to make an accounting to You. It is not easy to walk as You have called, to die to oneself over and over, in every moment. But it starts with asking in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within us through the Holy Spirit that You create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within us, for one walk in and with Jesus. It’s about being a channel of Your peace and love in every moment. To stand each morning, having girded our waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless us and all that is ours in fulfillment of Your will and to keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. This is it, this is my prayer, and this I do pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Abba Father as much as we say we put You first, the reality under the sun is we continually put people and things before You. The desires of our mind, body and heart dominate the soul and spirit. The result far too often is we lose the moment and disconnect from You our source of source. The truth is disconnected from You we will never have enough of what others need from us and we need find what we need in others. Once we have heard the call it’s a lonely walk under the sun, and without You it is even lonelier. Finding our place under the sun is so different, and keeps changing. I must practice, practice Your presence. I must in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I ask and pray that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus each moment. I must accept that to be a channel of Your peace and love, I may only find peace and love in You. I must stand daily having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; and above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one who will use all my desires, needs and wants against me. I must be ready for what ever comes across my path, even as I ask and pray that that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and that You keep us from evil and pain; reminded that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me and mine. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
