One Walk

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 03/25/2012

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Abba Father another week comes to an end this one more than I can remember filled with questions about how I can walk as one under the sun among so many who don’t believe, follow or seek the Son. I stumble and fall – confess and through faith get up and get started again, not counting times or days, but only seeking and praying that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me. Asking that You make me a channel of Your peace, an example of Your living presence in each of us. I rise to stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 03/24/2012

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Abba Father let me find my place of safety and rest in You. When rest is hard to come by and sleep is elusive, let Your Spirit turn my thoughts to You. Flood my mind with Your peace and an awareness of Your presence. Let me rest in You and allow the sleep You give to rejuvenate me so that I can awake to serve with renewed energy, a clear mind, and a willing spirit. In the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Make me a channel of Your peace, standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Abba Father thank You for my lifetime partner. May we never miss an opportunity to say the words that really count. Help us to live without regrets, always ready for the homeward call of Jesus. In the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Make me a channel of Your peace, standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. [The Armor of God] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

Abba Father I am never alone because You are always with me, and in this, I find hope. You are everything Scripture reveals You to be – my shield and my glory, the one who answers my cry, gives me rest, and sustains me. You are the antidote to fear and hopelessness. Let my leadership reflect my confidence and hope in You.  In the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

‘Jesus, thank You for being the perfect embodiment of a servant leader. Thank You for embracing humanity in every way, including experiencing emotions. Help me to engage emotionally with people, to enter into their lives, and to empathize with their emotions, just as You do with me. Help me to serve from a heart like Yours.’ I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You today. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Abba Father we find it so much easier to fill our lives with “doing” instead of “being.” Forgive us for our misplaced values and careless living, and show us how to keep our priorities straight. In the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Make me a channel of Your peace, standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
