My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/16/2014
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

Lord God, help me to relate to and serve others in humility, following Your example. Create a pure heart, and 
renew a steadfast spirit within me. Help me to stay strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remind me that even if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. And that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
