My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/11/2014

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

Abba Father I’m reminded that You rested after creation, and Jesus was so tired He slept while a storm raged around Him. Remind me to call out to You when I am exhausted, to rest in You, and experience restoration.1 To come to You so that You can create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk is in and with You. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done, I must spend each moment loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

The Lord’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.

Abba Father search me with Your light, expose my motives, even those I hide from others. Examine my heart and mind and behavior. Remind me of Your call to servant leadership. Transform me so that I can lead like Jesus.1 Create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and fill me with forgiveness and love. Help me to stay strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord.

Abba Father I confess my tendency to wander from Your ways. Forgive me, and create Your heart within me, a heart that longs to hear and obey your commands. May I find life in obedience, and create an environment where others find life through my obedience.1 For my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. At daybreak, Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.”

Lord Jesus, cure me of the tendency to allow busy-ness to shape my priorities. Focus me on what You want me to do. Create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me for my one walk in and with You today. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying in Your name on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert to always pray for those You place in my path. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Lord God, I humble myself before You in this moment, declaring that I am dependent on Your wisdom and strength and power to meet every challenge facing me. Thank You for taking my anxiety and giving me confidence. May You be exalted in my life and in the eyes of others.1 Through the Holy Spirit within me and in the name of Jesus Christ, I come to You so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me for my one walk in and with You today. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Lord God, thank You for opportunities to share with others about You and the good news of Jesus Christ. Open my eyes to opportunities to tell Your story to those around me, especially the children and young adults whom You have placed in my life.1 Through the Holy Spirit within me and in the name of Jesus Christ, I come to You so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk in and with You. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Strong in You and Your almighty power. The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?” “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.”

Jesus, thank You for inviting me to come and see. Teach me to lead as I follow You, the ultimate servant leader.1 Keep my heart pure, and my spirit steadfast for my one walk with You today.
