My Daily Prayers and Readings for 12/04/2013

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

Lord, when the days are long and I don’t see change happening, remind me to stay faithful to You and to following Jesus’ model of leadership. Give me words of wisdom to speak; keep me from speaking out of frustration. Weed out anything in my life that contradicts Your message of humility, confidence, and serving in Jesus’ name.1 Keep my heart pure, and my spirit steadfast for my one walk with You. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert to always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 11/26/2013

Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

Lord Jesus, give me the same urgency for connection with the Father that characterized Your life. I can’t be who You’ve called me to be publicly without an ongoing, intimate relationship with You privately. Fill me up so I can freely give.1 Create a pure heart within, and renew a steadfast spirit for my one walk in and with You. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert to always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak.

Lord God, You are never too busy to stop for someone who needs You. Give me Your heart toward others, and help me to take advantage of the opportunities You will give me to influence and develop those around me today.1 Create a steadfast spirit within me. Keep me free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Jesus Lord, You have given me spheres of influence where I can witness to You through my leadership. Wherever I am and everywhere You send me, at home, at work, at church, in the community and world, let my life witness to the difference following You can make. Create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me for my one walk in and with You. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

Lord God, Moses’ challenge to the Israelites is a timeless message, one that I need to hear today. Whether my day holds challenge or success, let me meet each one in the humility and confidence that comes from knowing who You are, and who I am in You.1 Create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Jesus, You are the Lord of all life, and You saw all of life as an opportunity to serve others, meeting them at their point of need in order to restore them to relationship with the Father. Give me eyes to see the opportunities I have to serve others today, always keeping in mind God’s greater purpose in their lives.1 Liken my heart to Yours, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert to always praying for those You place in my path. “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.

Lord, as I step into what You have for me today, help me to live in light of Your call. I want to be a faithful and wise servant whose life reveals the transformation You are working in me as I look forward to Your return.1 Likened my heart to Jesus, and renew a steadfast spirit within me for my one walk in and with You today. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power.
