My Daily Prayers and Readings for 11/30/2012

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

Abba Father by Your grace I am what I am in You, 1 and through that grace I pray i will be what You intend me to be. All I need to do is keep coming to You each day in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me through the Holy Spirit so that You can create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. So that You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. So that You will help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one who only seeks to keep me from You. Always praying that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 11/28/2012

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service, even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Abba Father ‘my life is hopeless without You. I am born with a “flesh” nature and continue to choose wrong paths throughout my life.’1 Only in and with You can I be what You created me to be; and only because of Your mercy and grace and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ am I able to have a relationship with You now. This is why I come to You each morning in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me through the Holy Spirit so that You would create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. For You to show and teach, and remind me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Knowing only You can help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one who only seeks to tempt me and take advantage of my flesh nature. Praying without ceasing that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 11/27/2012

Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me?
Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence.

Abba Father how easy it is under the sun to forget You are with us and we are not alone, especially when discouraged. Today’s verse and devotion gives us a simply question and steps to follow for overcoming discouragement1 by getting right with You – a spiritual first-aid. Ask why? Look within, look up, look back and look ahead; remembering You are with us and with You what is there to be discouraged about. However the stronger we are spiritually the speedier the recovery. So I must practice Your presence and start each day from a pint of reference that is true and pure with You by coming to You in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me through the Holy Spirit so that You can create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. Opening my mind and heart to You, so You can show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people, for when I allow myself to be discourage, I cannot be of help to others. Staying in Your Word so I can stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one who wants to keep me discouraged. Always praying that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; free of discouragement, reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man.

Abba Father ‘thank You for being willing to carry me through the challenges of life. Teach me to rely more on Your power rather than on my own strategies and coping abilities. Show me how You want to use the difficulties I face to draw me into a more intimate relationship with You.’1 Use this time to create to a pure heart in me, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, with the past behind me except for lessons learned, ready for my one walk in and with You today. I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me through the Holy Spirit so that You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people by staying in the moment and out of yesterday or tomorrow. For You to help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always praying that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, keep us safe and away from evil and pain; while reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.

When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O Lord, I shall seek.”’1 I come to You each morning in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me through the Holy Spirit ‘seeking Your face’2, looking for You to create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. Hoping that You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Asking You will help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always praying that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
