Taking the Next Step

My Utmost for His Highest
https://utmost.org/taking-the-next-step/

When you have no vision from God, no enthusiasm left in your life, and no one watching and encouraging you, it requires the grace of Almighty God to take the next step in your devotion to Him, in the reading and studying of His Word, in your family life, or in your duty to Him. It takes much more of the grace of God, and a much greater awareness of drawing upon Him, to take that next step…

There’s a peace I’ve come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There’s an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"

Today’s prayer
Dear Lord God, Abba Father, with a grateful heart and an awareness of each and every blessing. I come to You each morning, knowing it takes ‘much more of Your grace and a much greater awareness of my drawing upon You, to take the next step.’ So I wake opening my mind and heart to Your Word and the Holy Spirit. Seeking that verse, reading, devotion or song that connects me to You, lifting me up and readying me for this new day. My OneWalk with You. Hear my prayers, take my hand, continue to bless me and mine, keep us from evil and causing pain. Amen

MAKE FRIENDS WITH THE PROBLEMS IN YOUR LIFE

Today’s verse

Romans 8:28 Amplified Bible (AMP)

MAKE FRIENDS WITH THE PROBLEMS IN YOUR LIFE. Though many things feel random and wrong, remember that I am sovereign over everything. I can fit everything into apattern for good, but only to the extent that you trust Me. Every problem can teach you something, transforming you little by little into the masterpiece I created you to be. The very same problem can become a stumbling block over which you fall if you react with distrust and defiance. The choice is up to you, and you will have to choose many times each day whether to trust Me or defy Me.

The best way to befriend your problems is to thank Me for them. This simple act opens your mind to the possibility of benefits flowing from your difficulties. You can even give persistent problems nicknames, helping you to approach them with familiarity rather than with dread. The next step is to introduce them to Me, enabling Me to embrace them in My loving Presence. I will not necessarily remove your problems, but My wisdom is sufficient to bring good out of every one of them.

While I fight to stay connected with You, to feel Your presence and hand upon us. I know I cannot rest in the moment. I must use Your presence to renew my strength and energy, and ready myself to act upon Your will as a new day begins. For all this fight and focus on me is so that others will see Your presence in me. So I must go out and be ready to feed whatever lamb You place before me today. Stay with me, keep my ears, eyes, mind and heart open to Your sheep. Amen

Abraham’s faith tested

REFRAMING JESUS

GENESIS 22:8-14—THE LORD WILL PROVIDE JESUS

The place where God supplies a sacrifice for Abraham eventually becomes the site of the Temple, where Israel will focus its entire system of faith in God. It’s on this same mountain that Jesus will be sentenced to death as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity. What did Abraham know about God that filled him with such faith? How does Jesus’ death on the cross compare to the sacrifice that the Lord provides in Genesis 22?

Jesus Calling
http://www.jesuscalling.com/app/

WHEN SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE OR THOUGHTS makes you anxious, come to Me and talk about it. Bring Me your prayerand petition with thanksgiving, saying, “Thank You, Jesus, for this opportunity to trust You more.” Though the lessons of trust that I send to you come wrapped in difficulties, the benefits far outweigh the cost.

Well-developed trust will bring you many blessings, not the least of which is My Peace. I have promised to keep you inperfect Peace to the extent that you trust in Me. The world has it backward, teaching that peace is the result of having enough money, possessions, insurance, and security systems. My Peace, however, is such an all-encompassing gift that it is independent of all circumstances. Though you lose everything else, if you gain My Peace you are rich indeed.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. —Philippians 4:6

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.
—Isaiah 26:3

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. —2 Thessalonians 3:16 nkjv

WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS

We are not fundamentally free; external circumstances are not in our hands, they are in God’s hands, the one thing in which we are free is in our personal relationship to God. We are not responsible for the circumstances we are in, but we are responsible for the way we allow those circumstances to affect us; we can either allow them to get on top of us, or we can allow them to transform us into what God wants us to be.

The Word of Truth

OneWalk: Under the Sun, with the Son
Today’s Bible Verse, Reading, Devotion, Worship Song and Prayer

Today’s verse

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

Dear Lord God, Abba Father, sometimes it is not easy in this day to affirm the truth of the Gospel. We face many pressures that lead us to question, even to doubt the good news. Help us, we pray, to have confidence in you and your truth. Give us discerning minds and confident hearts. I pray today for those who are struggling with doubt. Meet them in their questions, concerns, and worries. Lead them to resources that will help them to think clearly about matters of faith. Bring into their lives those who can lovingly and wisely help them to grasp and grow in the truth. Amen.
