Isaiah 53— Every single line in this chapter richly describes Jesus, who is prophetically called the “Suffering Servant”— this is a detailed list of the redemptive work of Jesus, including taking our sins upon himself for those who have strayed( 2 Corinthians 5:21; Acts 8:32; and many other passages).

Peter now realizes that he does love Him, due to the revelation that came with the Lord’s piercing question. The Lord’s next point is— “Pour yourself out. Don’t testify about how much you love Me and don’t talk about the wonderful revelation you have had, just ‘Feed My sheep.’ ”

Today’s prayer
Dear Lord God, Abba Father, Your mercy and grace surpasses my understanding. Yet I feel Your hand at work and upon me and mine. While I fight to stay connected with You, to feel Your presence and hand upon us. I know I cannot rest in the moment. I must use Your presence to renew my strength and energy, and ready myself to act upon Your will as a new day begins. For all this fight and focus on me is so that others will see Your presence in me. So I must go out and be ready to feed whatever lamb You place before me today. Stay with me, keep my ears, eyes, mind and heart open to Your sheep. Amen

Today’s prayer
Dear Lord God, Abba Father, You know everything, I love You more each day. I fight to stay connected to You for I need to feel Your presence. I need to know I seek Your will. I want others to be able to see You in me. Dying to myself, I want to give You all the glory. I want to be a man after Your own heart. I hope and pray that is what You see and know. I ask as always that You would continue to bless me and mine, that Your would be with us, that You would expend our territory for Your will, that You would keep us from evil, and from causing pain. Amen

God remains the strength of my heart…

Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.

Abraham’s faith tested

REFRAMING JESUS

GENESIS 22:8-14—THE LORD WILL PROVIDE JESUS

The place where God supplies a sacrifice for Abraham eventually becomes the site of the Temple, where Israel will focus its entire system of faith in God. It’s on this same mountain that Jesus will be sentenced to death as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity. What did Abraham know about God that filled him with such faith? How does Jesus’ death on the cross compare to the sacrifice that the Lord provides in Genesis 22?

Jesus Calling
http://www.jesuscalling.com/app/

WHEN SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE OR THOUGHTS makes you anxious, come to Me and talk about it. Bring Me your prayerand petition with thanksgiving, saying, “Thank You, Jesus, for this opportunity to trust You more.” Though the lessons of trust that I send to you come wrapped in difficulties, the benefits far outweigh the cost.

Well-developed trust will bring you many blessings, not the least of which is My Peace. I have promised to keep you inperfect Peace to the extent that you trust in Me. The world has it backward, teaching that peace is the result of having enough money, possessions, insurance, and security systems. My Peace, however, is such an all-encompassing gift that it is independent of all circumstances. Though you lose everything else, if you gain My Peace you are rich indeed.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. —Philippians 4:6

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.
—Isaiah 26:3

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. —2 Thessalonians 3:16 nkjv

WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS

We are not fundamentally free; external circumstances are not in our hands, they are in God’s hands, the one thing in which we are free is in our personal relationship to God. We are not responsible for the circumstances we are in, but we are responsible for the way we allow those circumstances to affect us; we can either allow them to get on top of us, or we can allow them to transform us into what God wants us to be.
